My
puppies are raised with a litterbox and learn to use it on
their own. I am frequently told that my puppies are nearly
completely house broke when they arrive at their new homes and
every time, I am asked how I accomplished it at such a young
age. There's no secret, they just don't like to sleep in
dirty beds, so they use the litter box. As their attempts
at using the litter box becomes more successful, I increase
their living area.
My puppies stay in the house until they are 4-5 weeks old and do not go out at all, until they are 4 weeks old, when I start taking them out for a few minutes, several times a day.
This is another factor in their house-breaking. For the most part, they will stop eliminating in the crate shortly after I start doing this. During this time they are socialized with the rest of the pack, and also get to meet my kids'
beagles, so they will be used to bigger dogs as well. My kids take them out of the playpen every time they walk by, sometimes even sneaking them out and hiding them in the bed-covers so they can sleep with them....they are VERY well socialized, to say the least.
All available puppies are vaccinated before leaving to their new homes and
come with a puppy-pack that I have put together with articles on
the dangers of over-vaccinating, picking a quality dog food and
a sample of the dog food that I feed.
Price is dependant on the puppies quality, pedigree and buyer's
intentions. My
pet price with spay/neuter contract starts at $800 for mismarked or
older puppies and up to $1200 for show-quality puppies placed in
pet homes. I do negotiate the price at times, to perfect
homes in special situations. I prefer loving pet homes
for my puppies, but sometimes I will consider show homes who
raise their dogs in the house and not in kennels, depending on
my contractual obligations regarding the parents of my puppies.
In the rare event that I should approve a show home, my price
starts at $1500 and depending on the quality of the puppy, his
parents, their pedigree etc, it could be up to $2500.
Shipping usually runs about
$300-450 (explained in more detail on my "terms"
page). Our government issues an embargo on shipping live
animals in cargo during the heat of summer and extreme cold of
winter. If the temperatures are above 85* or below 40* at
departure, arrival or any connection along the way, then the puppies
cannot be shipped in cargo.
In the case of an embargo,
I use a personal friend who is in the business of shipping dogs.
She carries them in the cabin with her, where they ride under the
seat in front of her. Her name is Becky and you can call or
text her at 704-779-2805 for a quote. Her price depends on the
location of pick up and delivery.
Of course, my preference is that
you come to pick them up, which incidentally, does not cost much
more than shipping if you can buy the tickets well in advance.
In most cases, I can meet you right at the airport if you wish.
I hope you have enjoyed my
site, and I hope to hear from you when you are ready to bring a
new puppy into your home!
